How do I set task dependencies?
Use the "Start Offset" field to control when each task begins relative to the project start date. For example, if framing starts after a 12-day foundation phase, set the framing offset to 12. This gives you simple sequencing without the complexity of dependency management software.
Can I save my schedule?
Use the "Copy as Text" button to save a formatted version you can paste into an email, text message, or project management tool. Use "Print" to generate a PDF. BuilderMuse Crew (coming Q3 2026) will include saved schedules with sharing and automatic notifications.
What about weather delays?
Add buffer days to outdoor tasks. A common rule of thumb is 1 weather day per 5 working days for exterior work. You can also add a "Weather Buffer" task at the end of weather-sensitive phases. When delays happen, adjust the start offsets of downstream tasks.
How detailed should a construction schedule be?
For a single-family home, 15-25 tasks is usually enough. For commercial work, you might need 50-100+ activities. The right level of detail is whatever your subs and crew actually read. A schedule nobody looks at is worse than no schedule at all.
