1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using buildermuse.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the site. We may update these terms at any time without prior notice — continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Description of Service

Buildermuse is a construction industry information platform providing news articles, construction statistics, federal and state bid listings, material price tracking, and a contractor directory. The platform is provided “as is” for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free service.

3. No Professional Advice

Nothing on Buildermuse constitutes legal, financial, safety, engineering, architectural, or construction advice. Statistics, bid data, material prices, and news articles are for informational purposes only. Do not make business, hiring, bidding, purchasing, or safety decisions based solely on information from this site. Always consult qualified licensed professionals for specific construction, legal, financial, or safety matters. Buildermuse is not a licensed contractor, engineer, architect, attorney, or financial advisor.

4. Data Accuracy and Sources

Construction statistics are sourced from public agencies including the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Census Bureau, USAspending.gov, SAM.gov, the Federal Highway Administration, FRED, and others. We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee that data is current, complete, or error-free. Source agencies may revise, delay, or correct data after we publish it.

Material prices are indicative market estimates sourced from BLS Producer Price Index, FRED, and industry surveys — they are not real-time quotes and should not be used for bidding or purchasing decisions. Federal bid data from SAM.gov should always be verified directly with the issuing agency before responding to any solicitation. State DOT bid data is sourced from public letting schedules and may be delayed or incomplete.

5. Contractor Directory

The contractor directory aggregates publicly available business information from Google Places API and user submissions. Star ratings, review counts, phone numbers, and addresses come from Google and are not independently verified by Buildermuse.

Inclusion in the directory does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, certification, or guarantee of quality, reliability, or safety. Buildermuse does not verify contractor licenses, insurance, bonding, certifications, or legal standing, and does not screen, vet, interview, or background-check any listed contractor. Users are solely responsible for independently verifying all contractor credentials, references, insurance, and licensing before hiring. Buildermuse is not a party to any agreement between users and contractors, and is not responsible for the quality, timeliness, legality, or outcome of any work performed by listed contractors.

6. Contractor Submissions

Contractors may submit business profiles for inclusion in the directory at no cost. Submission does not guarantee listing — Buildermuse reserves the right to decline or remove any submission for any reason without notice. Submitters warrant that all information provided is accurate, current, and that they are authorized to represent the business.

By submitting a profile, you grant Buildermuse a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display submitted information — including business name, description, logo, and contact details — on the platform. Submitted logos and images must not infringe on any third-party intellectual property. Buildermuse may edit submissions for clarity, formatting, or accuracy. Removal requests can be sent to support@buildermuse.com and will be processed within 5 business days.

7. Intellectual Property

All original content on Buildermuse — including articles, analysis, site design, code, and branding — is the property of Buildermuse. You may not reproduce, distribute, or republish content without written permission. Government data sourced from public agencies remains in the public domain. Contractor-submitted content (logos, descriptions) remains the property of the submitter but is licensed to Buildermuse for display as described in Section 6. “Buildermuse” and its logo are trademarks of Buildermuse.

8. User Conduct

You agree not to use the site to scrape data at scale without permission, submit false business listings, impersonate another business, interfere with site operations, attempt unauthorized access to any part of the site, or use the site for any illegal purpose. Automated access (bots, scrapers) is prohibited without prior written consent. Buildermuse reserves the right to block access to any user or IP address that violates these terms.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

The site contains links to third-party websites including Google Maps, SAM.gov, USAspending.gov, state DOT websites, and contractor websites. Buildermuse does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, privacy practices, or availability. Clicking external links is at your own risk.

10. Privacy and Data Collection

Buildermuse uses Google Analytics to analyze site traffic. Contractor submission forms collect business information as voluntarily provided by the submitter. We do not sell personal or business information to third parties. Uploaded files (logos) are stored securely and used only for directory listings. See our full Privacy Policy for complete details.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUILDERMUSE AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM: USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE; ANY INFORMATION, DATA, STATISTICS, OR CONTENT ON THE SITE; ANY INTERACTION WITH OR WORK PERFORMED BY CONTRACTORS LISTED IN THE DIRECTORY; ANY BID, CONTRACT, OR BUSINESS DECISION MADE USING INFORMATION FROM THIS SITE; ANY ERRORS, OMISSIONS, OR INACCURACIES IN DATA FROM SOURCE AGENCIES; OR ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR SUBMISSIONS. THIS LIMITATION APPLIES WHETHER THE CLAIM IS BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. BUILDERMUSE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY DATA, STATISTICS, PRICES, OR CONTRACTOR INFORMATION WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Buildermuse and its owners, operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the site, your submissions, or your violation of these terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state in which Buildermuse operates.

15. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
