Assembly Estimator
Pre-built construction assemblies (framed wall, finished room, concrete slab). Adjust inputs, get total.
Methodology
Each component cost = qty per assembly unit × component unit price. Assembly cost per unit = sum of components. Total = assembly cost per unit × your quantity. All component quantities and prices are user-editable.
FAQ
What are assemblies and why use them?
An assembly bundles the components needed for one unit of a finished item (one LF of framed wall, one SQ of roofing). Once you tune an assembly to your crew's productivity and your supplier prices, estimating a job is just plugging in quantities.
How do I adjust an assembly for a different spec?
Edit the component rows directly. Change studs to 24" OC by adjusting the BF per LF. Swap 1/2" for 5/8" drywall by updating the sheet price. Add a tear-off line to the roof assembly. The cost per unit recomputes on every keystroke.
Can I build my own assemblies from scratch?
Yes. Click New, give it a name and a unit, then add components one at a time. Save once — the assembly stays in your library across visits.
Does the total include overhead and profit?
No. The assembly total is direct cost only — components priced at what they cost you. Apply overhead, contingency, and profit markup at the bid level (see the Bid Calculator) so your assemblies stay portable.
Estimates only. Component quantities and prices are starter values — verify with current local supplier quotes and your crew's productivity.
