Federal Construction Bid Demand Index
Where federal construction demand is concentrated right now — 1,929 open solicitations on SAM.gov, broken down by the work type, trade, state, set-aside, and agency that actually shape which bids are worth chasing.
By work type
What kind of work agencies are actually soliciting (from the federal PSC code).
By set-aside
Small-business and socioeconomic set-asides decide who can even bid.
Top states
Where the open work is by place of performance.
By trade (what the work actually is)
Classified from the solicitation text, not just NAICS — so specialty work hidden inside general-building filings surfaces here.
Top contracting agencies
The offices posting the most open construction work.
Methodology
Counts of open federal construction solicitations on SAM.gov, classified to trade by NAICS code. A monthly snapshot is captured each run; month-over-month change appears once two or more snapshots exist. Estimated value is summed only where the solicitation publishes one.
This is the first monthly snapshot — month-over-month change begins appearing once a second snapshot is captured. We publish only what the data supports; nothing is estimated.
